The Melbourne Writers Festival (MWF) is Melbourne’s annual two-week celebration for writers, readers and thinkers. MWF works with The University of Melbourne on an extensive internship program, with students undertaking research projects and gaining industry experience across different aspects of the Festival including programming and marketing.

PARTNER
The Big Idea / The Big Issue (TBI)
The Big Idea is an initiative of The Big Issue, a not-for-profit social enterprise best known for its fortnightly street magazine The Big Issue, which empowers homeless and disadvantaged people to earn an income. The University of Melbourne partners with The Big Issue every year to deliver The Big Idea to university students as part of their study. Students attend a series of lectures and workshops, with mentoring and guidance from some of Australia’s leading social entrepreneurs. The course culminates in a competition with teams from other universities and the winners are chosen by a judging panel of high-profile business leaders.
